No New Posts the Hog's Head Inn

Located a block or so off High Street, the Hog's Head Inn has been a fixture of Hogsmeade for hundreds of years. A worn-out wooden sign hangs over the door, advertising with a wild boar's severed head leaking blood onto the white cloth around it. It's known for its cheapness, at least relative to the Three Broomsticks down the street, and attracts an interesting clientele.

No New Posts Hogsmead Station

A "tiny, dark platform" where the Hogwarts Express ends its journey north from Platform Nine-And-Three-Quarters. The station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to Hogwarts Castle. The station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the Hogwarts grounds.

No New Posts the Post Office

The only wizarding post office we ever hear of, where at least three hundred owls, from Great Grays to tiny Scops ("Local Deliveries Only"), wait to carry messages. They sit on shelves that are color-coded, depending on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
Hogsmeade
Hogsmeade is the only village in Britain inhabited exclusively by wizards and witches. Hengist of Woodcraft built the village a thousand years ago in the shadow of a large, rocky mountain to hide from the Muggles who had persecuted him. The village consists of a High Street lined with thatched-roofed shops, surrounded by streets of cottages that become further apart as one gets further from the main village. As the only completely non-Muggle community, Hogsmeade has played a pivotal role in wizarding history in the country. It attracts all sorts of magical beings, like ogres and hags, who wouldn't blend in well in Muggle areas. Hogwarts students in their third year or above can visit the village four times a year, one Saturday in each season.
